Preston started going to Physical Therapy (PT) this week, to work on increasing his strength and his stamina. They are going to whip him into shape. They even let me work out on some of their equipment. For the next month we will be going to the hospital Mon-Fri, for IV infusions and PT. The nausea still persists and is a real pain. It comes in waves and smells can really set it off. He is maintaining a good calorie intake despite it. Shawn & Angela had their new baby girl (Jordyn) yesterday. Mom & baby are doing fine. Another granddaughter to love. We are trying to figure out when I can see & hold her. Hope everyone has a good Memorial Weekend.

Memorial Day
The "Memorial" in Memorial Day has been ignored by too many of us who are beneficiaries of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Often we do not observe the day as it should be, a day where we actively remember our ancestors, our family members, our loved ones, our neighbors, and our friends who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Ways we should observe Memorial day are:
- by visiting memorials.
- By flying the U.S. Flag at half-staff until noon.
- by flying the 'POW/MIA Flag' as well
- by participating in a "National Moment of Remembrance": at 3 p.m. to pause and think upon the true meaning of the day, and for Taps to be played
- by renewing a pledge to aid the widows, widowers, and orphans of our falled dead, and to aid the disabled veterans.
by visiting cemeteries and placing flags or flowers on the graves of our fallen heroes.

Debbie Updates
It has been 28 days since the transplant and things are going okay. So far they check Preston every MWF. We are usually at the clinic in the hospital about 5-6 hours on those days. He is receiving infusions of magnesium & fluids and they can't run it in too fast. This past weekend was great. Nick, Jen, Sami, & Shea came to visit. We got to see the new grandbaby for the first time. She is a doll. I went to the zoo to spend time with them. Dennis cam to spend time with Preston. They took in some of the sights around Salt Lake City and visited Kennocott Mines, Hill Air Force Museum, and Antelope Island. The doctors tell us things are going very well. We have sure enjoyed being out the the hospital. Hope all is well,
Preston and Debra

I may have a police record...can I be fired???
I've been wanting to join our little clinic blog page for awhile now, but those of you who know me well, know I'm the busiest person in the world...I know someone is out there saying..."I'm busier then she is"...sorry, you are not. Between days at the clinic with my "silver-haired friend", and Dr. ADD, "Dancing with the Stars", and trying to deal with my over-scheduled children and my unruly Boxer who will always stay a puppy( I don't care how old he is)... I have finally decided to take a minute and do some blogging. First off, I find myself very jealous of Dr. Galke's adventures across Europe and the day by day report of what they are doing in Germany...it makes my life seem much too boring, even if I am the busiest person in the world. What made me the most green with envy was that he got to drive on the Autobahn...which is a highway in Germany with NO SPEED LIMIT... Now that I have Dr. McKinlay's attention... Speaking of speed limits..A few weeks ago, I had a car full of children, only half of them mine own, and I am trying to get to 4 different places with 5 minutes in which to do it in. So we throw the Passat into turbo and let er rip...next thing I see is the lights, sirens, bullhorn etc. of the Bonneville County Sheriff...I want to throw-up all over the steering wheel. Unlike some women I know, I refuse to cry, whine, beg or make excuses as to why I was going mock-5 in a 35 mph zone. I take it like the woman that I am, act like I'm listening to his stern lecture on the evils of speeding, yada, yada, yada.... I cram the ticket into my fake Coach purse (I could have a real one if I didn't spend so much money on speeding tickets), and off I go on my merry way.
This past Tuesday when I was working in Firth, I realized it must be about time to pay said speeding ticket...I finally find it and yes...it is due that very day by 1:00 p.m. My over-active imagination sets in and I can swear I hear sirens getting closer...I can see the headlines in the Church News...Primary President arrested for failure to pay speeding ticket !!! Of course, they will have a picture of me with something over my head to protect my identity, but they will still get a picture of my CTR ring. I panic and call my lawyer friend...Doc friends are nice when you need a bit more Lexapro, Lawyer friends are best when you're about to be arrested. He told me to fax him the ticket and he would take it to the courthouse. Somehow I thought all was fine and dandy until I got the mail tonight and I found some sort of official legal document saying I'm to appear with my Attorney (if he is a friend do I have to pay him?) for a pre-trial conference with the judge. My first thought? I'm going to need a new outfit...something sedate, serious, professional, how much cleavage should I show , maybe some new black pumps and of course ,a brief case to carry some post-it notes that say Viagra on them.....do you think they will have refreshments??? Stay tuned...

Lets brag a little!
If there is something exciting that has happened in your eventful lives, your kids did something funny, your spouse said something they shouldn't have, or just something interesting, share it with us! I want this blog to be something fun for the clinic. Send me pictures if you want too. You can e-mail them to ashleyo@bfmed.com. I have a funny picture of Preston and Frankenstein on the right hand side of the blog to give you an example!
